When I came back from my short vacation yesterday, I found a lot of stuff in my inbox. Apart from a couple of hundred bounced messages (thanks to an email spammer using my address again), Joe had forwarded me an email discussion he's had with a spammer last week.
Here's his first email to Joe:
Joe replied that 1) he couldn't do anything about what is or is not on chongqed.org and 2) that that ultimatum didn't make much sense. Did he mean 48 hours or did he mean until Friday night? Here's email #2
Here's what I have to say about this:
- Of course, you are the better SEO. That seems to be your job. But before you waste a lot of time and money: Who cares if your site will appear in search engine results when people search for "chongqed" or "chongqed.org"? I don't care a hoot.
- You do not agree to our listing of usagc.us for the keyword green card lottery? Gosh! The spammers aren't agreeing with what we do! I guess we will have to shut down chongqed.org then. Listen: We never thought you would agree. We may be dumb, but we aren't that dumb.
- usagc.org is not a faked site? Of course it isn't faked! I don't know how this relates to usagc.us, but both of these sites are out there and accessible. People are free to give you there money, we don't mind. But the warning from the goverment is out there too and not a fake. And all they say is that you should be skeptical. Whether your site is in any way illegal, a fraud, or a rip-off is not for us to judge. But it's never bad to be skeptical.
Here's a snippet from email #3:
All I have to say to this is: you are just about to ruin your "reputation" yourself. You spammed guestbooks to promote that site. That wasn't us. You are now acting in a childish way to harm us. We aren't the ones that put kiddy-talk on other peoples' photographs. If your reputation is ruined, it was your own fault, sorry. We just did a little reporting. Try it yourself and google for "usagc.us". The results speak for themselves: lots and lots of spammed guestbooks.
Finally, here is email #4:
I didn't write all that crap about usagc
There is a huge difference between spamming and writing an article Making people to think that usagc is a doubtful website which promotes it self by spamming , there is no law saying you can't work with SEO's To promote yourself and also , there is no law saying you can't put a link To your site in forums and/or guest books.
Bottom line, I can optimize my site anyway I want and how much I want, and you have no Privilege in writing the craps your writing.

No, you are right, there is no law saying you can't work as an SEO. And there also is no law saying you may not spam guestbooks. We never claimed that such laws existed. But there's also no law that tells you to not use Google to search for links to certain sites. And there also is no law that says you cannot report incidents of spamming. You put your spam on the world wide web and it is out there for anyone to see it.
On the other hand, there is something like netiquette. And please don't tell me that you didn't know that the owners of those guestbooks didn't like spam. And yes, we have the privilege to write any kind of crap that we like to write. That's the beauty of the www.
